As this weekend is the Cigna Round the Bays, there will be no Sunday group run. Good luck everyone, and especially to Paul, Matt and Bruce who are doing the half-marathon!
As part of the Pride Festival Wellington Frontrunners and DSW Swim Club are running a fun triathlon on Saturday 3 March. Registration is FREE. There’s a sea swim (800m), a cycle (10km) and a run (5km) – you can sign up as an individual doing all or just some of the events, and we will form teams from the people who enter. (Volunteers are also needed: fill in the registration form too.)
As it is Wellington Anniversary weekend and lots of people are away, there will be no Sunday morning run this weekend. Wherever you are – you can still go running!
Due to the Wellington Marathon and with some people being away, there will be no group run on Sunday 18 June. See you all next weekend!
This week’s mid-week run will be on Wednesday 19 April (rather than Thursday). Same time (6pm), same starting point (Freyberg Aquatic Centre).
The weather forecast for the weekend has got a lot worse over the past 24 hours – there is now a firm forecast of southerlies and heavy rain for both Saturday 11 March and Sunday 12 March mornings.
For that reason we’ve decided that it’s best for us to cancel the Rainbow Fun Triathlon for this year – basically on the grounds that it wouldn’t be any fun!
But we’ll try again next Pride Festival.

This Thursday’s 6pm (2 March) run will start from the Laundry Lounge on upper Cuba St and head up the Polhil Reserve. https://www.facebook.com/LaundryOnCuba/
Because of the Round the Bays run this weekend, this Sunday’s run (19 Feb) will occur in the Hutt Valley. We’ll be gathering at the top of Cornish Rd, Korokoro, at 9am, and running towards the Korokoro Dam. We’ll decide on somewhere for brunch afterwards! If anyone wants a lift, let me know.
It would be great to see a good turnout, especially at the Meet and Greet (the Mayor should be attending), and of course the fun run (or walk if you want to walk) on Sunday morning at 9am and the brunch at Karaka Cafe at Te Wharewaka at 11am.
Please note that the Capital Ocean Swim starts at 8am so parking will be in short supply so you might have to park a little further away so arrive early!

Because both Christmas Day and New Years Day fall on Sundays and everyone has other plans, we will have our next Sunday run on 8 January 2017.
There will be a Thursday run in the evening of 22 December, and 29 December.
Happy holidays everyone and a big thank you to everyone who has run with us this year!
